Boating Common Questions

 

You need no experience or licence to row a boat. We give a full demonstration on your arrival and answer any questions you may have. You will be shown all the workings of the boat followed by a detailed explanation of the navigation charts that will be supplied to you.

We recommend that the group leader be at least 16 years old.

Yes, unsecured parking is available there is a cost to the Activity Centre of 4Euro this can be paid at the gate or if you wish to use the centres facilities you will get parking complimentary.

We recommend proper boating / rubber soled shoes. Please do not bring heels.
Bring your waterproofs and don’t forget sunglasses and sun cream.

Rowing a boat is great exercise ! it is strenuous and requires strength but you can time your time and pause to take in the sights, the islands, the beautiful canals and the amazing wildlife and nature.

The insurance does not cover you for personal injury or loss or damage to your own property.

Yes absolutely, Lough Key has an abundance of fish such as Trout, Pike, Perch, Roach, Bream and Eels.

In the unlikely event of a breakdown our Support staff will be with you immediately. On-board safety equipment includes: life jackets and life ring.
